Overview
UBL 2.1 Invoice is the OASIS XML syntax used by Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 and by most European e-invoicing mandates, including Romania's RO e-Factura.
When it is used
One of the two syntaxes EN 16931 allows. The XSD checks the structure — element order and unknown elements — while the EN 16931 and Peppol Schematron rules check the business content on top of it.
