CrossIndustryInvoice D16B is the UN/CEFACT XML syntax behind Factur-X, ZUGFeRD and XRechnung-CII — the second syntax EN 16931 allows, alongside UBL.
When it is used
This is the XML embedded inside a Factur-X PDF, and therefore the format of the French mandate. The bundled schema is the self-contained "uncoupled" variant; code lists are enforced by the Schematron layer.
